Design Development

This original dress was draped, patterned, and sewn by Jess Fox for high school graduation. It is made of satin brocade, polyester lining, and medium-weight velvet. The exaggerated length of the skirt was designed to be worn while on horseback; creating a dramatic silhouette in movement.

The bodice features hand gathers, ruching, and metal boning. The back of the gown is cut low, and the sleeves can be worn as cap sleeves, or as off-the-shoulder.
