Design Development

This series includes 3 different corsets, a mini-collection of technicals, and illustrations filled with matching garments. The overall style of the collection is a blend of soft shapes, pastel colors, and feminine cuts contrasted with harsh color-blocking, bright tones, and extra paneling. This collection stays close to Jess Fox’s design style, specifically playing on her history in corsetry.

The mini-collection was built through various sketching exercises, design journaling, and researching. The final 3 corsets made are still up for rework with potential surface textures and design details to be added.

Final Design

The final 3 corsets built use various colors of bridal satin, a layer of medium-weight cotton will for structure, and a layer of cotton/polyester lining. Each corset is boned with plastic bones and uses metal busks and center back lacing closures.
