Design Development

These leather gauntlets were designed with designer Jess Fox’s heritage in mind. Blending Scottish and Metis glove designs together to create a combination of styles. In Fox’s classic color-blocking technique these gloves are made of black lambskin leather and chestnut cowhide. The beading along the cuff is done by hand by Fox.

Numerous iterations, sketches, and ideas were made, but this pair was chosen as the final design. A custom pattern was made, a sample was sewn and changes were made to create the final accessory.

All leatherwork on these gloves was sewn by hand using leatherworking needles and heavy-duty thread.
