Created in the spring of 2017.

Creation

This costume portrays one of designer Jess Fox’s favorite DC Comics character, “Cheshire” a deadly assassin; Fox chose to recreate her image in a style most similar to George Perez’s art. The costume consists of a wrap skirt, a bodysuit with an asymmetrical sleeve, a headband, and a pair of boot covers (not pictured). By using varying fabric types, textures, and patterns, a level of visual interest is created. The bodysuit includes plastic boning and silicone edging along the bust, and the closures consist of a plastic zipper, snaps, and velcro.

This costume was Fox’s first attempt at drapery and fabric dyeing.
